Washington Sundar is an Indian cricketer who plays for the Indian national team and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He is a slow left-arm orthodox bowler and a lower-order left-handed batsman.
Domestic Career
Sundar made his first-class debut for Tamil Nadu in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy. He took 32 wickets in his debut season and was named the Emerging Player of the Year. He has since been a regular member of the Tamil Nadu team and has helped them win two Ranji Trophy titles.
International Career, Washington sundar
Sundar made his international debut for India in a Twenty20 International (T20I) against Sri Lanka in December 2017. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Australia in January 2019. He has since played 15 ODIs and 36 T20Is for India, taking 25 and 44 wickets respectively.
IPL Career
Sundar was bought by the Rising Pune Supergiant in the 2017 IPL auction. He played for the Supergiant for two seasons before being traded to the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2019. He was then traded to the Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2023.
